3 Real Reasons Why You Should NEVER Give Up

You win some. You lose some. In pursuit of your goal, sometimes your loses feel greater than your wins. In those times, it is easy to give up, but here are 3 REAL reasons why you shouldn’t:

  1. There Are Other Ways. I struggled with my weight for a long time. In college I ballooned. Got angry. Starved. Got skeleton skinny. Got angry. Ate too much. Got angry. I didn’t want to be supermodel skinny. I had a goal weight in mind; the ideal healthy size for me. I just went about it the WRONG way. When I got there, I kept slipping. I had to take a step back. There had to be a better, healthier way. I tried a few things until something clicked. If you’re stuck, don’t stay stuck. Try something different. Don’t think, I must go to this school, get this job, and buy this house or it won’t work. Open your mind to new ways to reach your goal.
  2. Failure is Progress. Accept and Appreciate it. Failure might not seem like progress, but how else are you supposed to know what works? If your dream is big enough there will be tons of ways to get there. One will work. Most will not. Imagine a zombie is chasing you (been watching too much Walking Dead) and you have a janitors ring full of keys. One of them will unlock the door that will lead you to freedom. Are you going to give up because the first 3 keys don’t work? No, fool. You’ll get bit! You gotta keep trying. One of those stupid keys work. At least now you know which ones don’t.
  3. You’ll never know unless you TRY. BIG dreams and require big people attitudes. I remember once in gymnastics my coach was telling  me to do a backflip. I had never done one alone before. I was always spotted. There was a line of us 6 year olds. I was first. I was terrified. I didn’t think I could do it, but I went ahead and tried. A big dream has requirements. One of them is that you actually try. You could fail. In such case, see reasons 1 and 2.

Everyone has struggles. I couldn’t figure out how to work this scarf at all with this outfit, but I didn’t let that get the best of me. Trust in your vision and keep it moving.
