We’ve been living in our home for about 3 years, and we’ve slowly been finding our interior style year by year. It wasn’t/ hasn’t been easy since our styles are so different. I’m more West Elm mixed with Anthro mixed with Restoration Hardware mixed with Crate and Barrel. Yeah. Okay. I’m a lot of things. He is more of black, leather, oh and red. So, yea. There were a number of random lamp purchases that we regret, paint choices that we now acknowledge are a hot mess, and furniture decisions that just make us really question who we are as a couple. You know how sometimes excitement and anxiousness cloud your judgement? That would describe a lot of our first home furnishings. Cloudy judgement. Now, after a few years of oh hell no, that’s not going in MY house, M and I are coming into our own style. It’s neutral, a bit earthy, a bit masculine, and a bit glam. At least, that is what we are working towards.
One decision we know we won’t regret is getting rid of this bland beige carpet. Being the good old do- it- yourself kind of couple we are snipping and ripping it up ourselves. We got the wood laminate flooring on sale during Black Friday. #grownups Here’s a little sneak peek of the progress so far.
