Caring for My Winter Skin

Ok, so the other night I begged M to rub my butt. This is going somewhere, I promise. In the winter my skin gets really dry. Like really dry. You know those pictures of a cracked desert floor? That’s my skin. Don’t laugh. It’s impolite. So, I take some extra care and time to make sure that I stay moisturized when it gets colder outside. Lucky for me and for M, Aveda sent me some really good stuff to combat dry winter skin.img_5853

I love exfoliating my whole body first to get the dead skin off.  This Rosemary Mint Body Polish is everything. The scent is so wintery and pleasant. I love the combo of mint and rosemary. It’s herbaceous and refreshing. Anyway, this polishes and buffs away dead and dull skin and makes my legs and butt feel so smooth!  See where I am going? The secret to  a happy marriage y’all. Smooth butt.

Here’s how I take care of my skin in the winter:

  1. Exfoliate. See above.img_5855
  2. Cleanse gently. Use a gentle cleanser as so not to strip your skin thus making it more dry.
  3. Moisturize. But like really moisturize. Go for a creamy one. If you try this Candrima one by Aveda, breathe it in. The aroma is so soothing and comforting. It’s like a warm blanket. And cookies. Doesn’t smell like cookies, but the warmth and love you feel when you eat a cookie, that’s the feeling.screen-shot-2016-12-15-at-7-13-32-pm
  4. Seal. I heard Beyoncé goes to sleep with oil on. I don’t know if that’s true, but it seems logical. Plus, it’s gotta work because I do this with my hair and it last for days. So seal with an oil.
  5. Massage. This is a little extra. It’s just nice to take a little pause and appreciate your body. Self-care. Amen.

Watch my Winter nighttime routine!

Are these products available on the ground or do I have to order them?

I think you can get them in store or online at Aveda.
